A major surgical tool and medical prosthetic manufacturer on the east coast contacted Hoffmann Filter in an attempt to improve the filtration in their manufacturing process, with the ultimate goal of improving safety and performance while still being cost effective.

After reviewing the process, Hoffmann Filter decided that a suction filter, type UBF 500 would be the ideal filter for this application. The UBF 500 was built with a re-designed clean tank which allowed for all maintenance items to be at a much lower working point. With these items within arm's reach from the floor, it significantly improved the safety conditions for the maintenance team.

The UBF 500 provided three Huffmann grinders with up to 100 GPM each. 75 GPM @ 200 PSI along with another 10 GPM @ 1000 PSI were provided to each grinder utilizing a moderate weight grinding oil. The customer had two different cooling unites that they wanted to continue to use, which Hoffmann was able to seamlessly integrate into the coolant system - reducing the overall cost of the project.

After getting the filtration system up and running, this manufacturer was so pleased with their coolant that they said, "We should have done this years ago, the coolant is perfect." Because the coolant is so clean, they anticipate increasing their wheel life by 10%, which is the equivalent to saving thousands of dollars per year.
